Postponed...

Well, mom's surgery was postponed. Found out about 16 hours before she was supposed to have surgery. Tuesday when she went to the hospital for pre-op, they discovered a rash on her feet and ankles. They wrote her out of work, gave her a prescription, and told her to rest and stay off her feet. They checked her again today and decided to wait. They don't want to take the chance of infection or mrsa. Well, I was a little relieved. I was so stressed and worried last night, I just about made myself sick.

Not long after mom's call, I received a call from Orthopedic Specialists to schedule my MRI. Yes, MRI. My second opinion on my knee, not only thinks I have the chondromalacia, but also a problem with the meniscus. Possible treatment options: cortisone shots (by now, you know that I think that is a total waste of time) and physical therapy (didn't work the first time). Since he thinks there is a problem with the meniscus, he also suggested the MRI, just to make sure that there is nothing floating around or a tear. All for the MRI but.....after insurance, I still have to pay $679.51, or $250 the first visit and payments of $85 a month. I was just floored...what the heck. It seems like things are just getting more and more expensive....you have to be rich to do anything now a days. That will just take me off on some tangent, so I guess I will stop there.

I guess out of everything that happened, I still get a long holiday weekend with both Friday and Monday off, only mom is not having to recooperate. Hope everyone has a great 4th of July weekend!!!

Random...

Random thoughts...

True Blood is back!!! Super excited!!!

Really tired of my knee pain. Chondromalacia patella...at least that is what the first doctor diagnosed me with. Hopefully, Wednesday I will find out more. Now instead of my knee just popping back into place, it feels and sounds like tearing when it moves and the pain is not only just on the inner side of my right knee cap but on the top. I hope that whatever is wrong with, it can be fixed. If he wants to give me a shot, I think it is just a temporary fix and just might refuse.

I wish it would rain...a good, soaking rain. Everything is just too dry.

Really feeling "If I die young" by The Band Perry and it's currently ring tone.

I really need to do some housework but this spot on the couch is really comfy...

Every morning when my alarm is extremely annoying, I am sleeping the best and I have to get up. Why is it that when you have to get up, your bed is the most comfortable? Why can't it be that comfortable when you first lay down? Why can't it be that comfortable when you are lying in bed for 2 hours and are still wide awake?

Oh yeah, Friday I ended up scoring FREE Showtime and TMC for a year! All thanks to a problem on TWC's end. Anytime we tried to watch anything On Demand it would say it wasn't available, try again later. That sucked...especially when there is NOTHING interesting to watch on tv. During my call, I did find out that the biggest market in the US for True Blood is the Greensboro area. Funny.

Enough random for now, True Blood season premiere starts now and will have my undivided attention for the next hour. ;)

This dork is out...

Slack #2

Yep, a year later and I am finally blogging again. SLACKER!

I am still working for the same local bank, however, I moved to a different branch. I am currently the teller supervisor and being trained as a back up CSR. Pretty exciting...I have had one of the busiest months ever involving my job. Week 1: CSR training in Lexington, Week 2: training summer teller and Notary Public class Tuesday and Thursday, Week 3: CSR coaching in Wallburg. I was finally back in my branch playing catch-up on Friday.

In the past year, my best friend, Meredith, had her baby boy, Gabriel. He is the cutest little boy ever. This is a picture of me and Gabriel a few weeks after he was born. Jonathan and I went to Hampton, VA for a visit. He was so tiny then and has grown like a weed since the last time that I saw him back in March. Meredith says that he is now sitting up and loves to squeel!

Jonathan has been going racing this year. They won the first Big Dog of the Season and the first EOPM of the season. However, they can't seem to get another win this year. They have been running well but haven't been able to qualify as well as they want. Hopefully, things will turn around for them.

In the past year, we have also started finishing the basement. Well, Jonathan has done most of the work. Sheet rock dust really messes with my allergies. the walls are finished and painted. One room and the closet is has ceiling. In all rooms, we still have to have the electrician come out and finish and the flooring put down. We still need to finish the ceiling in the main room. Hopefully, we will have time to work down there and finish it soon.

Anyway, enough about the past year. My mom is having surgery on her neck Friday, July 1st. She has nerve damage so they are going to replace one of her bones with a cadaver bone. I think we are all kind of nervous, especially with this being her first major surgery. After her surgery, she will not be able to keep my grandmother for a while. We aren't really sure how this will affect her. Granny is 91 and has to have a lot of help. Granny's memory isn't what it used to be so they thought it might be best to not tell her so she doesn't worry. I know that she will still realize that she is supposed to go to mom's but won't understand why she can't go.

Well, I guess that is enough for now. Joanthan has me watching Halloween II and I am completely lost now that I have been blogging. He is getting a little irritated with me asking questions. LOL

Until next time....C
